Strategic Initiative:
Monitoring our water quality through ongoing data collection
Since the 1990s, we have supported the “Baywatch” program of nutrient monitoring in Buzzards Bay, coordinated by the Buzzards Bay Coalition. During the summer months, we sample weekly at the Woodneck tidal inlet. Early proponents of this program were Maureen Conte, Greta and Karl Audenaerde, Lynn Lees, and the late Sam Trotz. This growing database provides a long-term record of water quality at sites throughout the Bay.
